Excursions and Tours for delegates and accompanying persons

Special tours have been arranged exclusively for the delegates and accompanying persons. All tours will leave from the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. The deadline for application is January 13, 2015. Applications made after this deadline cannot be guaranteed.
How to make a tour reservation
To make a tour reservation, it is necessary to fill in the ON-LINE REGISTRATION FORM.
Reservations will be processed on a “first come, first-served” basis. The capacity for each tour is limited. The Congress secretariat reserves the right to offer another tour in case the selected tour is fully booked.

Tour 1 – ROYAL WALK TOUR
This walk takes you to the historical centre of Prague - Old Town, which was inhabited more than 1,000 years ago.
Royal Way is the name of historical route through the centre of the Czech capital of Prague, after which drove the impending coronation of Czech kings. We will begin with the Powder Tower - the work of Gothic style, which was once part of the Royal court. Celetná Street takes us to Old Town Square where you can admire Old Town Hall with its famous Astronomical clock from the 15th century, the beautiful churches, palaces and houses. From this beautiful place we will continue to the impressive Charles Bridge, founded in the 14th century under the auspices of King Charles IV. and then continue up to the Prague Castle the largest ancient castle complex in the world.
Tour 2 – PRAGUE CASTLE WALK TOUR
Did you know that according to the Guinness book of records, the Prague Castle is considered the large in the world? Join us on a tour of the castle's Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Roman histroy buildings, in chat has been the seat of the Czech Kings and Holy Roman Emperors and since 1918, the residence of the President of Republic. During the tour on our bus from the city centre to the Castle, our guide will tell you more about the major sightseeing attractions along the way. In the Castle, you will enjoy a visit part of st. Vitu´s Cathedral and know about history and arichtecture. From the Prague Castle you can admire a beautiful view of Prague.
Then we will take a walk through the St. Wenceslas' vineyards down to the Malostranska, nearby the Charles Bridge, where our tour ends.
Tour 3 – VYŠEHRAD WALK TOUR
Vyšehrad is a historical fort located in the city of Prague, on a hill over theVltava River. There are situated within the castle is the Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, as well as the Vyšehrad Cemetery, containing the remains of many famous people from Czech history, among them Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, Karel Čapek, and Alphonse Mucha. Local legend holds that Vyšehrad was the location of the first settlement which later became Prague.
Come with us for a pleasant walk over the Vltava river and the roofs of Prague and listen an old legends at this mysterious place.
Tour 4 – PANORAMIC PRAGUE – BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE CITY
The sightseeing tour aims to show you within two hours four historical towns of Prague and their monuments including the most important highlight of Prague - the Prague Castle. On the way to the Prague Castle by bus you will see the New Town with the Wenceslas Square and the National Museum, the National Theatre, the Charles Bridge and the Lesser Town as well as the panorama of the Prague Castle. Then you continue walking about one hour through the Prague Castle premises and our guide will make you acquainted with its history and its meaning and use today.
Tour 5 – KARLŠTEJN CASTLE
Karlštejn Castle is one of the most visited castles in the Czech Republic. It was built by Charles IV between 1348 and 1355. It originally served to safeguard the imperial and royal treasure and the Crown jewels and as an archive of state documents. This gothic castle, which will enchant you with its monumental architecture, can be found about 38 km southwest of Prague. After climbing the hill, an hour-long tour of the interior awaits you. Your guide will acquaint you with the not only the history of the castle, but also with the life of Charles IV and art during his reign.
Tour 6 – GLASS FACTORY NIŽBOR
Are you fascinated by the beauty of Czech crystal? Would you like to learn more about how it is made? Would you like to buy glass for a better price than in stores in the centre of Prague? We offer you an excursion to one of the best known glass factories located not far from Prague. First you will visit the production area, where you can admire the craftsmanship of the local blowers and cutters. Of course, a shop is located in the factory, where you will be able to purchase products for a reasonable price.

Tour – GRAND SIGHTSEEING TOUR WITH PRAGUE CASTLE AND CHARLES BRIDGE
If you decide to take this tour, our professional guide will acquaint you thoroughly with Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and with its thousand years old history and architecture. From the comfort of our air-conditioned bus we will show you first the New Town with the Wenceslas Square, the National Museum, the National Theatre, the panorama of Prague Castle and the Lesser Town as well as Charles Bridge.
Then you will continue walking in the courtyards of the Prague Castle, become acquainted with its history and you will visit the inside of its biggest monument, Saint Vitus’ Cathedral. After visiting the grounds of Prague Castle, you will descend to the Lesser Town and the Kampa Island.
